PRAYAS is a revolutionary step initiated by Jain (Deemed-to-be University), one of India's premier educational institutions to support the budding sportspersons. Dr. Chenraj Roychand, President, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) quotes, "We've been supporting sportspersons for the last 25 years, we wanted to take this mission forward to ensure they excel internationally, one of the main reasons why we started PRAYAS. Time has come for our nation to produce more Olympians, it's matter of right support and ecosystem."
I lost my foot in a car accident and had to opt for prosthetics. As I had issues with my weight, I thought of hitting the gym where I realized that I could sprint very well. My parents and family have always supported me. I have actively participated in the half marathon of 'My Country Run' in the past few years and this time around I'm hoping to complete a full marathon. My ambition is to participate in the Olympics, and wish that someone would guide and support me to achieve it."Amogh Madhav
We require to be fit and people underestimate the value of fitness the impact of fitness on our mental capacity. The more we train, the more we look after our bodies, the more equipped we are to sustain ourselves in our jobs whatever it may be. We can never undervalue the tool of the body that has been blessed to us, so I think fitness is something everybody requires in their own way. Swimming, jogging, training in the gym or playing a sport casually; these things definitely add value to an individual's life. My Country Run is a great initiative by Jain University, a reminder to the people out there."ROBIN UTHAPPA
"My Country Run has been initiated by Dr. Chenraj Roychand, President – Jain (Deemed-to-be University). They have been doing it for the last two years – this year’s the third. All the money collected goes to the sportspersons. They have trained many sportspersons themselves. Running is good for mental and physical health, and it’s for a great cause, so I wholeheartedly support it."Padma Bhushan Dr. L Subramaniam
"I support the My Country Run, which Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is organizing to support sportspeople, armed forces, and general fitness for everybody."Bindu Subramaniam
"My Country Run is a wonderful initiative of JGI Group and Jain (Deemed-to-be University). The problem with a lot of our academia is that we don’t focus on sports. And I’m very happy to know that this Group supports sports. I noticed that many of the fine players in many sporting fields in Bangalore and Karnataka are coming from these institutions. So, I support this great initiative. Our country has to become a lot fitter and a lot more athletic than it is. We deserve better lives, and the way to give ourselves better lives is to get fitter."Shekhar Gupta

"My Country Run by Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is an initiative to encourage sports. As we know, sports is quite neglected in our country. So, I think we as average persons should bring out the sportspersons in us, because sports teaches us how to take life, success and failures together. It helps us be fit, which means a healthy mind and body will be beneficial to the nation."D. Roopa Moudgil, IPS
